Quite a few people urged me to write a compiled fan account about working backstage at the Soshified/SM fanmeet on October 24th, 2011.. so here it is! Blah blah blah, skipping all of the parts about setting up and all of that junk. I know a lot of Soshified staff, and so I was able to help out with the bundles distribution & the fanmeet. (By the way, if we met that weekend you should tweet me @camiiseta so we can chat it up! ;D) I ended up working the area backstage between the stage and their dressing room. In front of their dressing room there was a small area, then a small hallway, another small area where us staff stood, and then the stage.
After setup the first members who walked in were Tiffany linking arms with Seohyun, followed by Sunny linking arms with Sooyoung, and lastly Sunny’s sister. Tiffany is seriously such a sweetheart because she like, made it a point to individually look at us in the eye and say hi to us! She flashed us so many eyesmiles and waved while saying ‘HI GUYS! HIIII! HIIII!’ I seriously don’t get how anyone can say anything bad about her because she just seemed so warm and friendly. Maknae seemed polite, as usual.. bowing to us as she said hi. Both Sunny and Sooyoung also waved to us and slightly bowed as they walked by. <333 I’ve worked with Sunny’s sister before in LA, so she recognized me right away and gave me a shocked look and waved excitedly and said hi to me as they walked by to the dressing room. I guess the other members entered another way? I have no clue. They went into the dressing room and I assume they did the interview that was released by mnet before they all came out and waited in the area by their dressing room. I was just by the stage watching them stand around since none of my fellow staff seemed to be looking down the hallway haha. The members were standing around with nonchalant expressions, but as soon as a camera approached them they were able to be professionals and their expressions changed to bright and excited. I watched Sooyoung give the interview that was shown on mnet. Then after I saw Sunny give an interview together with Sooyoung, I’m not sure what channel that was for. Then all of a sudden I saw Taeyeon appear by the dressing room. She clearly wasn’t feeling well and I had to fight the urge to go up to her and say “힙내세요!” or some words of encouragement because I’m sure she would rather not be bothered.
Later on Yuri and Yoona came out and were standing at the end of the hallway closest to me and were about 5 feet away from me. Yuri was facing me and leaning against the wall with Yoona directly behind her, also facing towards me. Yoona was putting her hand on Yuri’s shoulder and whispering into her ear from behind and I was just standing there inwardly spazzing. Haha I was just thinking, am I invisible right now? How am I seeing this?? HAHAHHA.
Finally, it was time for them to go on stage so they all walked by me and Taeyeon seemed pretty ill. She was standing by me while they were waiting to go on stage, and she gave out a sigh. I wanted to tell the kid to go to sleep or something, because it seriously broke my heart to see her like that. But like I said, I decided to leave her alone. They finally started going on stage and I could see Taeyeon suck it up for the fans! Unfortunately during the performance of The Boys, something happened to Yoona’s ankle and as soon as the performance was over Yoona hobbled off of the stage and sat on the ground next to me and was surrounded by about 5 or 6 staff members. We were handing out water bottles to the members, and I honestly didn’t really pay attention to them because I was so worried about Yoong. It seemed like she really hurt her ankle and the staff members were making sure she was okay. It hurt so bad that tears were falling from her eyes and I seriously felt the most helpless I’ve ever felt. I wanted to ask her if she was okay or give her a tissue or something, but obviously that wouldn’t be the right thing to do so I stayed back and let the staff do their thing. Yoona sat there for a while gathering herself, and so I went back to my job of handing out the water bottles.
Hyoyeon was so funny because she was constantly speaking Korean to us staff from Soshified. When I was handing her water bottles, she grabbed one and started to leave, but came back and said “하나만! 하나만!” Hahaha luckily I understood her and grabbed her another one before she went back on stage. I think she got the extra water bottle for Yoong because she put it on her empty chair. T____T Also at one point during the fanmeet she turned to us and kept saying “부채! 부채!” while fanning herself hahahaha. We asked around and figured out it meant she wanted a fan. But we couldn’t find one. Alkjfdlskjfasdf.The fanmeet went on, and Taeyeon started crying because of the love she was receiving from the Sones. Sunny was comforting her by rubbing her back and shoulder, and while she was doing that she leaned back and asked us for tissues to give to Taeng. A;lsfjkdl;kawjeflkj I LOVE DANDYU T_______T. So we went on a frenzy looking for napkins. While we were looking, she even asked the other side of the stage for tissues.. she seemed to really want them for Taeng. Finally one of the other guys working backstage with me found a stack of napkins and was about to go and bring it. But I asked if I could do it, and he let me… THANK YOU AGAIN! So I walked out on stage and handed Sunny the stack of napkins. But I had a mission haha. I had drawn a fingerstache on my finger, an inside joke between Sunny & Sunshine Village… and so after I handed her the napkins I tapped on her wrist and said “Sunny!” before giving her the fingerstache. HAHAHAH she gave me a puzzled look and thought I was saying there was something on her mouth so she put her hand to her lips, so I just did it again and she threw back her head and burst out laughing. She seriously laughed so loud that I heard Taeyeon ask her what happened while I walked away. I saw later in fancams that Fany, Taeng, Sooyoung, & maknae all heard her and were curious what happened hahahah. In fancams you can see me staring at sunny while I walk off stage. WHOOPS hahahah.
The fanmeet ended and the girls went to their dressing room to do their interview with Soshified while everyone left the building and us staff waited by the office where our staff was. After their interview, they all walked by us to leave. They were all linking arms… I don’t know who Sunny was linking arms with because I was too focused on her.. :X. But she smiled and said bye to me and everyone else while they left. Soy asked Tiffany if she wanted a Soshified shirt and she was like… “YEAH THROW ME ONE!” Hhahaha! All of the girls were saying things like “thank you” and “goodbye” and they all seemed really happy from the fanmeet. Right behind them was Sunny’s sister! Alkwejf;fjaefkj she said bye to me and I asked if I could give something to Sunny.. but they were all in a rush so she didn’t hear me and they left. They were all in an elevator.. and they were gone. But then I looked around and saw Jinny!!! She held my wrist with her hand and asked if I had a chance to meet Sunny because she knows I really like her. And when I said I wasn’t able to, she was really remorseful and said something like “aww that’s too bad.” She like, gave me a pout. She’s so sweet. T_____T But again, I asked if I could give something to Sunny. She said, “is she there?” Because she thought Sunny was still nearby and I could give it to her myself. I gave her a small Victoria’s Secret bag with the ‘stache labbit and sunglasses called sunstaches hahaha. She asked me “what is it?” and looked inside. Hahahaha she probably thought I was a byuntae or something and I might be giving her panties or something because of the bag. But she said she will definitely give it to her because she will be seeing her soon. But PHEW! That is the end of my fanaccount… feel free to tweet me if you have any questions!
